The Angkor Photography Festival will sponsor free workshops based on the model of VII's workshops for young Asian photographers.

Through this program, the Festival will guide emerging photographers in developing the skills to better document their own societies, understand universal ethical and professional standards, and eventually create a vibrant photographic network across Asia.

During the week, participants will work on assignments in the local area and create an essay or portfolio on a wide variety of issues or themes. The students' images will be edited and critiqued on a daily basis by their tutors and the resulting photoessays or portfolios will be projected publicly alongside those made by the participants of the VII workshop. This projection is always one of the Festival highlights.

The workshop runs along the festival. Lodging and meals will be provided. The possibility of contributing toward travel costs will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Asian photographers under 28 years of age interested in applying should create an account on Flickr with a selection of their portfolio (maximum of 25 pictures), then send the link, a CV, and a short letter of motivation to angkorworkshop@gmail.com.
